We work closely with manufacturing companies in several different
industries. Our services are aimed at increasing competitiveness by
addressing key issues in strategy development & implementation,
product development and delivery, process improvement and business
development (accessing new markets and new products).
We have specific expertise in the following industries:
- The UK controls and instrumentation manufacturing sector. The firm
has carried out research to identify key acquisition and
joint venture partners for both private investors and major
players in the industry.
- The worldwide electronics sector. A study of opportunities
for the development of services based on a variant of pharmacy
benefit management as practised in the USA within the UK
and Europe. A proposed European service was based on drug
utilisation and effectiveness management via remote sensing
and recording of patient vital signs such as a remote diabetes
monitoring service using electronic glucose measurement
meter and a supporting Internet site to monitor treatment
effectiveness.
- The printing sector. A detailed market assessment
on behalf of a UK clearing bank of the printing and associated
services available in a depressed region of with a view
to establishing the feasibility of the Bank completing the
investment of £1m into a large printing company in order
to enable it to update its electronic printing presses.
- Food Manufacturing. Advice to London investment
group planning to invest in the establishment of a food
manufacturing plant for the research, development and manufacture
of chilled ready meals with a high nutritional content aimed
at children and adults. Research was carried out into the
feasibility of establishing the plant, including the cost,
location and financing of the production plant. The demand
for foods that were not being sold on their low fat content
was also investigated and the potential market amongst established
food retailers such as Marks and Spencer. The study included
an analysis of the level of investment required and the
projected pay back period.
- Multi Brand Sector. A research project for a multinational,
following its investment in new plant, on the optimisation
of its production processes using software scheduling tools
designed for its manufacturing process.
- Automotive Sector. Interim Management of a motor
manufacturer following the failure of its Holding company.
Restructuring and fund raising for an automotive parts supplier
called including market research to establish the company’s
viability as an independent supplier of parts in a competitive
market place, the growth potential of the business and the
optimal supply chain to enable it to remain a low cost supplier.
Other work in the manufacturing sector includes precision
engineering (including plastic injection moulding) and steel
fabrication.
